We left Seattle and started driving down Route 1, the coastal highway that goes all down the west coast from Canada to Mexico.
After a few hours of hairpin curves and beautiful ocean views, we decided to stop at a place on the Oregon coast. There was just a small sign advertising it, and we turned off the highway and found the place, which was an old airstream trailer. and we were the only customers.
But the cook was a French Chef, now living in Oregon, and she offered to make us Asparagus omelettes with cheese. Also she made us some wonderful coffee and had fresh cinnabar rolls. We were amazed and both agreed they were by far the best omelettes we’ve ever eaten and thanked her for her wonderful food.
After lunch we decided to take a walk down to the beach and watch the waves roll in for a while. It was a beautiful beach at the bottom of a bluff, an inlet, and there was a giant rock a bit off the coast in the water, easy to get to at low tide but not at all easy at high tide. The tide was low so we went out to the big rock and sat on top of it and watched waves crashing all around us. making a wonderful song and spraying us with water sometimes.
All of a sudden I had this feeling like we had been there before, like time had stopped and like we had always been there, and always would be there, even while we lived the rest of our lives. I asked you about it and you agreed.
It felt like all of time was one moment, and like all the universe was love, and that the only thing real was love, and this togetherness in this eternal moment. We both felt so happy and blissful, and I kissed you so passionately and could taste the salt from the ocean spray on your lips and we merged together experiencing this bliss and this moment like we were sharing brain waves and soul vibrations in complete and total harmony.
After a while the tide was getting higher and we went back to the beach, and looked at the top of the hill and there was a Hotel there. We decided we didn’t have to drive any further and we could spend a couple of days exploring this incredible beach.
We checked into the hotel and got a big cozy room with an ocean view and patio, and even a fireplace in the room on the wall opposite the bed.
